PERFORMANCE PRODUCT

In my previous role at Charles Tyrwhitt, I had the opportunity to lead design research and support the product design team, in the design of performance product within a workwear-first brand. Recognizing the shift in customer expectations, we successfully introduced elevated performance styles such as golf-ready knitwear, stretch chinos, technical shorts, and breathable jersey pieces.

Performance Chinos

Performance Chinos

When conducting design research in New York City, the product design team identified that our American customer had started blending activewear with their office attire. A product we couldn’t ignore in the research was the stretch chino, designed to enhance performance on the golf course, but dual-sourced as a comfort staple in the office.

Following the ever-growing performance trends in the market, it felt only right to build on the success of our merino quarter zip. Our performance zip neck range remained 100% merino, but with a fully water repellent finish. Updated with a rubberised zip pull, to follow the market, and create a garment suitable for both the office and the golf course.

WINTER SHIRTING

The AW24 flannel range was a last minute addition to the range. As a design team we noticed in our research that flannels were an opportunity present in the market which we didn’t cover in our casual shirts offering.

As this range was not planned, our Pointcarre designer was not scheduled to be working during this time, this meant I was given the opportunity to learn the CAD software (please see below) and create all of the check designs for our first flannel shirts range at Charles Tyrwhitt.
